Project Description
MPMH Construction were delighted to carry out the full refurbishment works to the new Post Graduate Training Library centre on campus at NHS Lothian, St John’s Hospital Livingston. The project comprised the refurbishment works to create staff training rooms & a new office. Works included: electrical works, new nurse call systems, mechanical & plumbing works, new controls, all fire stopping works, new ceilings, new fitted furniture, new walls, new doors, new flooring, glazed screens, and full decoration.
The project was carried out on programme and under budget despite the high-profile nature of the works and long lead in times for bespoke items.
St Johns Hospital
Key Issues
-
Noisy works had to be controlled out of hours by being flexible with “end user”.
-
To reduce interface with staff, patients and visitors we had to clearly mark access and egress routes, reducing chances of infection whilst keeping traffic to a minimum.
-
Access and egress routes had to be arranged and agreed for deliveries. This was agreed with all parties and risk assessed to ensure there was no disruption to end users.
St Johns Hospital
Added Value
-
Implementation of HAI Scribe level 4 set up to area. This was managed and recorded daily.
-
Worked with Infection Control to ensure compliance of HAI Scribe requirements
-

-
Created community benefits through use of local suppliers and sub-contractors.
